It’s been a busy last few months for the Nike KD series, having released some of its most unique designs to date. Today, we bring you information on one that was first seen last March. What is the best way to describe it? Let’s just say it’s another red hot addition to the series. Here’s a look at the Nike KD V “Red Patent Leather.”

Just as its name would imply, this sneaker is red all over, from the soles to the shiny red leather upper to the lacing system.

As of now, there is no information on when it will drop.

SneakerCeleb Sighting: Lil Wayne and the Air Jordan IV “Fire Red Toro”

Earlier this year, rapper Lil Wayne made headlines after claiming he was banned from attending NBA events after allegedly being kicked out of a game between the Heat and the Lakers. However, as we discovered, was not the case, as he has still been seen around games since the incident, including a more recent sighting to watch the Golden State Warriors host the San Antonio Spurs.

And on his feet during this game? None other than the Air Joran IV “Fire Red Toro,” complete with hang tags.

While Weezy is sporting these now, you can get your own pair when the “Fire Red Toro” drops July 13. This will retail for $160.

Sports Worlds Collide: Nike Kobe 8 “Mambacurial”

Before he became one of the greatest stars in NBA history, Kobe Bryant was a kid growing up in Italy who developed a love for football (or “soccer” as we here in the states like to call it), and that’s exactly what his latest sneaker is all about. Already, we’ve talked about how busy the month of May has been for the Black Mamba with the announcement of the “Purple Gradient” and the release of the Nike Elite series. So what’s next? Something that blends his two loves from the sporting world.

Let’s take a look at the upcoming Nike Kobe 8 “Mambacurial.”

Blending both basketball and soccer elements, this sneaker features a low-cut, purple and pink gradient upper, a lime green Swoosh on the forefoot and Nike branding on the medial side.

And for its release date? While currently available overseas, the “Mambacurial” will drop in the U.S. June 7.

Don’t Step On My Nike LeBron X EXT “Brown Suede” Shoes

Known more for its aesthetic appeal than for performance, the Nike LeBron X EXT series has given us several unique designs, from the popular “Cork” to the forthcoming “Denim.” Today we bring you information on a third model that brings back the days when you could find authentic suede on a basketball shoe. So to complete the trifecta, let’s take a look at the Nike LeBron X EXT “Brown Suede.”

As the name implies, this sneaker features an all brown suede upper, only offset by the light blue laces, and all sitting on top of a translucent rubber outsole.

While this was supposed to drop at the end of April, its release date was pushed back until mid-June. When we find out a definitive answer, you’ll be the first to know.

SC First Look: Nike KD VI “Yellow/Teal-Navy”

It’s never too early to look towards next season, right? While Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder and locked in a fierce battle with the Memphis Grizzlies for NBA Western Conference supremacy, Nike has unveiled details about KD’s sixth signature sneaker. The end result is a Leo Chang original that looks to be his sleekest and lowest cut model to date. That being said, let’s take a few moments to look at the upcoming Nike KD VI “Yellow/Teal-Navy.”

This sneaker features a vibrant yellow upper offset by a teal tongue and laces, as well as a navy Swoosh on the forefoot rather than the side panel like most models. Among some of its innovations includes a never before seen tongue system and 180 Zoom Air cushioning in the heel.

As for when you get a hold of Durant’s latest sneaker, this one is set to drop July 3, and will retail for $130.

We smell what Under Armour is cookin’.

Though best known for “layin’ the smackdown” on both the box office and in a WWE ring, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is not known to be a sneakerhead. Along with his aforementioned accolades, he has also come to be known for his intense workout regimen and intimidating physique, which is something the people at Under Armour have noticed. As a result, the popular activewear brand sent out a pair of his own custom Spine Bionic sneakers:

Inspired by his time at the University of Miami – he played defensive tackle on their 1991 National Championship team – this custom sneaker features a ‘Canes orange, green and black upper, a white sole and Johnson’s #94 emblazoned on the tongue.

SC First Look: Air Jordan 5 “Carmelo Anthony PE”

We’re in the midst of the NBA Playoffs, and while Carmelo and the #2 seeded Knicks renewing an old playoff rivalry with the Indiana Pacers. Appropriately, the Air Jordan brand has unveiled a new sneaker paying homage to New York’s superstar forward. That being said, let’s take a few moments to look at the upcoming Air Jordan 5 “Carmelo Anthony PE.”

This sneaker features a Knicks orange upper with white and blue accents on the sold and the midsole, and the #7 emblazoned towards the heel.

Unfortunately, these aren’t slated for release anytime soon. Currently, it’s not even on the Jordan release calendar for 2013, but keep checking back here for more information as we get it.

SC Update: Nike Air Foamposite One “Sport Royal”

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about these, so let’s revisit them.

“Sport Royal” Circa February 2013

Last February during All-Star Weekend, Penny Hardaway gave us a sneak preview of his brand new “candy blue” Foamposite Ones. For those who might not remember, the sneaker – now known as the Nike Air Foamposite One “Sport Royal” – features a metallic blue upper with grey accents along the laces and a translucent sole that’s as cool as ice.

According to rumors, the “Sport Royal” is set to drop September 2013, and will retail for $230. If there are any other updates, we will let you know.

Kobe Bryant’s pursuit of another ring may have ended earlier than he wanted, but that won’t stop his newest sneaker from dropping next week. May looks to be a big month for the Mamba with the release of the Nike Elite series and the announcement of the “Mambacurial.” As if that weren’t enough, we’ve got another one for you heading your way. This is the Nike Kobe 8 System “Purple Gradient.”

As its name would imply, this sneaker features a purple gradient upper, getting gradually lighter from heel to toe. In addition, it sits on purple speckled midsole, a white sole and the Mamba’s signature along the back.

So when will this be slithering into stores? As it stands right now, the “Purple Gradient” is set to drop May 11, and will retail for $150.

SC Final Look: Air Jordan 5 “Grape”

The wait is (almost) over, sneakerheads. After months of anticipation, the Jordan brand is finally set to release what may be one of the most anticipated retro releases to date, despite the fact that MJ himself never actually wore these during a game. After years of being kept in the vault (last issued in 2006), it’s time to make a comeback. Let’s take a second to welcome back the Air Jordan 5 “Grape.”

Looking every bit like its original 1990 version (sans the Nike Air emblem), this sneaker features an all white upper, complete with purple and teal accents along the midsole and the tongue.

And if you’re someone who has been keeping track of this sneaker for the past few months, you’re in luck. the Air Jordan 5 “Grape” is set to drop this Saturday (May 4), and will retail for $160.
